The Roland 300S MIDI Module is like a tape recorder. Music can be recorded
to the module's internal sequencer and edited using advanced editing features
such as copy, cut, paste, insert, delete, transpose, quantize, and more.
In addition, the module contains a sound generator that produces over 300 MIDI
sounds and variations. These sounds can be easily patched into the organ to
enhance registrations and emulate a synthesizer. The Swell, Great, Choir, and
Pedals each have two MIDI channels.
Categories of instruments available for use include Piano/Keyboard, Chromatic
Percussion, Organ, Guitar, Bass, Strings, Ensemble, Brass, Reed, Pipe, Synth Lead,
Synth Pad, Synth SFX, Ethnic, Percussive, SFX, and MT-32 Set (proprietary MIDI set).
This recording of the Widor Toccata was sequenced (recorded from the organ
to a disk) using a Rodgers organ and the Roland 300S MIDI Module.
